Working Cats ...

Here is another great article from our local paper. These feral kitties have been put on official duty to rid parts of L.A. of pesky rats. The director of Voice for the Animals, who also founded this program, gets my "MEOW" award for the week.

Boo Memorial

Mom made this cute acrylic cat shaped album in memory of Boo. These are my favorite pictures of him. The pink tulips really stand out in contrast to his black fur. In one he looks like he is smelling the flowers. meow.. meow He was a good kitty and a good brother. I'm glad mom had this book to remember him. She has lots of pictures of all us kitties and maybe I will be able to coax her to post more of them on here.

This cat album has 5 pages, varying in size from 5x5 to 5x7 plus the back page which is the cat. She designed it herself and sells it in our store at www.MeowPrints.com

Here are more pages from the album:

There are other acrylic albums in the store also. If you are interested in showcasing your furry friend in one of their own albums, pounce on this link Shreddin' Paper and then click on Kitty Memoirs Collection.

Take lots of memorable pics of your fur babies. They are priceless. I love looking thru mom's stash on here, when she is not watching, of course. We go through them together too. Well she looks through them, I am just really wanting her attention and some belly rubs. And what better way then to lay right in front of the monitor and paw at her til she pays attention to me. Works every time ... purrrr.....

Rainbow Bridge

While I was on hiatus, both Boo and Kayla crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Mom misses them a lot.

Boo liked to play and I could get him interested in a game of rough and tumbly. He played a little too rough sometimes and mom would get on him about hurting me. She said he liked to "go in for the kill" after a while of playing nice. It was just his way of playing. He didn't realize he was being so rough. I would wriggle away from him and run off til he calmed down. I miss him lots too. purrrrr

Kayla was great fun to chase around the house. She was such a girl. Mom kept telling her not to run away, to turn and slap me and the other kitties, just once, and we would leave her alone. But she didn't listen. She just ran away from us, so of course we had to chase her. lol She was a good kitty though. She loved dad a lot and loved to be in his lap. I miss her too. mew...mew

They are now running and playing together. Rest in peace my friends.. til we meet again. purrrrr

Hiatus Over

Wow... a lot has happened since the last time I posted. meow.. meow There is now a little person running around the house. meow And when I say running, I mean running. He has one speed .. run. meow.. meow. He likes to chase me around the house, but I am faster. >^._.^<

When I'm on the TV stand, he comes over and tries to grab me ... I bat at his head to let him know I am not amused and he laughs and laughs. He must think it is quite the game. I eventually become bored with this and move to the back of the couch to grab a catnap in peace. He cannot reach me here... yet. purrrrrr

Holiday Musings

The Holiday Season was busy, busy. Now that things have slowed down a bit I am able to post again... meow. The tree was beautiful and so fun to lay under. The twinkling lights, the fresh smell of fir. Every bulb and ornament beckoned ... 'play with me, play with me'. Of course, when I did, Mom was not pleased, to say the least. I can still hear her, "Kodi you leave those ornaments alone". She ruins all my fun. Gizmo and Missy Girl liked the ornaments too. Especially the golden jingle bells. Every once in awhile you'd hear the ting, ting of the bells being batted by little paws.. meow .. meow. We were gentle and never knocked any off the tree and onto the floor. You would think Mom would be happy about that part and let us amuse ourselves.

Under the tree, the packages made a nice bed. Ribbons and bows made great toys. I found that if you pulled and batted at the bows long enough they would release themselves from the packages. Free to be scattered across the floor and chased after. Mom would get up in the mornings and find our latest "prey" sprawled across the carpet. "You kitties were very naughty last night", she would say as she picked up the remnants left behind from our escapades... purrr.

I think we were very good kitties... not once did we try to climb the tree. There is something to be said for that. (Hmmmm.. something to look forward to next year.) Although, the water in the tree stand did need to be replenished often. It was just more convenient to drink from the tree then to walk into the kitchen... meow..meow. Humans think there is some great mystery surrounding the fact that cats drink from the tree stand when they have fresh water in their dish. Sorry to break it to you guys. No great mystery. Just pure and simple laziness. It is closer. Why exert the extra effort to walk all the way into the kitchen when there is perfectly good water right in front of you. Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out.. meow .. meow.....
